ATS Formula 3 Cup Stanaway extends overall lead with two wins
The sixth racing weekend of the ATS Formula 3 Cup was clearly dominated by Richie Stanaway of New Zealand. The series newcomer, who drives a Dallara Volkswagen, won both of the races on the Red Bull Ring near Spielberg in Austria. Stanaway's colleague in the Van Amersfoort Racing team, Hannes Van Asseldonk (Netherlands), clinched third place both times. Across the two races, there was a total of eleven Volkswagen drivers in the top eight. Stanaway extended his lead in the overall standings and now has 117 points.

The German Volkswagen driver Marco Wittmann came second in the Formula 3 Masters at Zandvoort, which also counted as the fourth round of the FIA Formula 3 International Trophy. The only driver to beat him at this traditional race was Felix Rosenqvist. Wittmann was joined on the winners' rostrum by a second Volkswagen driver, namely Kevin Magnussen of Denmark, who came third. The Spaniard Roberto Merhi (Dallara Mercedes) finished in ninth place, which was enough for him to clinch the F3 Trophy title before the end of the series.
ADAC Formula Masters Kean Kristensen steals the show in Spielberg
Kean Kristensen of Denmark was the most alert driver after a five-week summer break in the ADAC Formula Masters, picking up plenty of points as the second half of the racing series got under way. In the fifth of eight racing weekends, this time in Spielberg, Austria, Kristensen secured two victories and one second place. The second most successful driver at the Red Bull Ring was the German driver Mario Farnbacher, who came second, third and fifth. The German favourite for the title, Pascal Wehrlein, put in a relatively poor performance, coming third once and failing to rank twice, but nevertheless managed to hold on to his position at the top of the table. All of the drivers in the ADAC Formula Masters drive 145 hp Formel ADAC cars powered by Volkswagen.
Swedish Touring Car Championship Volkswagen driver Ekblom still on course for title win
Swedish driver Fredrik Ekblom defended his lead on the sixth racing weekend of the Swedish Touring Car Championship. 40-year-old Ekblom came third in the first of two races at the Karlskoga Motorstadion and therefore made it onto the winners' rostrum for the sixth time this season. He came fifth in the second race and this was enough for him to stay at the top of the leader board. Ekblom's biogas.se colleagues Johan Kristoffersson and Patrik Olsson, who, like Ekblom, drive a Volkswagen Scirocco run on biogas fuel, contributed further to the team's good result by also picking up some points.
