Getting there
Quick yet entertaining, our road trip to SEMA 2011 started in LA at around 6:30PM on Thursday night and ended about 7:00 on Friday night. After finishing up a busy week at the office, we packed up our road warrior 2011 VW Touareg VR6 and headed into desert.
We decided to take the 118 to the 210 and finally hop on the 15 to get to Vegas. Hitting traffic around Azusa, we got off the freeway to get some grub and wait out traffic. After several indecisive miles, using Yelp we finally found Grand Burger in Glendora. A few bacon cheeseburgers later we were delightfully stuffed, if you are in Glendora and desire a burger this place is the place to go.
Not having a room halfway to Vegas we decided it was time to book. After a quick load of the Priceline iPhone app and William Shatner popping out of the welcome screen, we low bid on a room near the convention center. Priceline came back with a room at the Renaissance Las Vegas Hotel. To our surprise it was located right next to the convention center, how convenient.
Driving into Vegas our weary eyes fixated on the bright lights of Sin City. Unfortunately we had to bypass that, get to our hotel and rest for the long day ahead. Once at Renaissance hotel, we checked into our room and to our surprise our room was on the 9th floor overlooking the SEMA show entrance.
The SEMA Show
As usual the visually stimulating SEMA show did not disappoint. There was no shortage of European cars to checkout. Please enjoy the few images we were able to capture.
