FIA World Rally Championship Successful test rally for Volkswagen Motorsport in Greece
Sébastien Ogier and his co-driver Julien Ingrassia scored six World Championship points after finishing seventh in the Acropolis Rally and, in doing so, presented Volkswagen with its sixth consecutive victory in the Super 2000 class. Volkswagen Motorsport entered two cars from Group brand Škoda and used the tough gravel stages on the Greek mainland to prepare for the debut of the Volkswagen Polo R WRC in 2013.
Volkswagen Polo Cup South Africa Barnes, Weyers and van der Linde win in Zwartkops
The 34 Volkswagen Polo Cup South Africa competitors enjoyed race action galore and three different winners at the fourth race of the season at Zwartkops: Two six-lap sprint races as well as an extra race twice as long were on the agenda. Kyle Barnes was triumphant in the first race. Kosie Weyers prevailed in the second sprint. Kelvin van der Linde secured victory in the main race.
Formula Volkswagen South Africa Wins for Simon Moss and Jayde Kruger
A trio dominated the Formula Volkswagen South Africa: the first races of the 2012 season went to Jayde Kruger, Simon Moss and Robert Wolk. This trend continued in the fourth race of the season at Zwartkops: Simon Moss won the first race from Kruger and Wolk. In the second race Moss and Wolk collided. Moss retired, Wolk fell way back. Jayde Kruger, who set a new lap record for the Formula Volkswagen at Zwartkops, won from Tasmin Pepper and newcomer Nicolas van Weely.
Volkswagen Endurance Cup Eddie den Dekker and Michel Schaap triumph at Zolder
Eddie den Dekker and Michael Schaap (FIA Racing) rolled as winners across the finish line at the second round of the Volkswagen Endurance Cup at Zolder (B). It was the first victory for some time for the two Champions from 2006. Second place in the 500 kilometer race went to Accord Uitzendbureau. The championship winning team from 2009 and 2011 leads the championship, which is held for Volkswagen Golf TDI 16V cars.
