Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup China Italians win at Sepang, budding young talents impress
Stefano Montesi, Andrea Reggiani and Angelo Negro won the highlight of the Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup China season in Malaysia. In the 12-hour race at the Formula 1 circuit in Sepang, the three Italians reached the finish with a two lap advantage over Eric and Henry Kwong (Hong Kong) and David Rizzo (Italy). The guest drivers from the Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup Germany also had impressive outings: the most competitive lady, Michelle Gatting from Denmark, and championship leader Ola Nilsson were leading together with Natasha Seatter from Malaysia, but were unlucky after experiencing gearbox problems. The ‘exchange students’ from Germany were forced to retire early after almost eleven hours of racing.
