Scandinavian Touring Car Championship Volkswagen driver Kristoffersson wins STCC title

Johan Kristoffersson is the new Scandinavian Touring Car Championship (STCC) Champion. The 23-year old driver from Volkswagen Team Biogas sensationally took the championship title in a heart-stopping finale at Solvalla. In the first race the Swede, at the wheel of the Volkswagen Scirocco CNG, presented the Wolfsburg based brand a one-two-three victory together with his brand teammates Johan Stureson and Patrik Olsson. He also finished the final race as winner in front of second place finisher Stureson and, in doing so, eased ahead of defending Champion Rickard Rydell (Chevrolet) in the championship standings to take the spoils by a mere six points.

Formula Volkswagen South Africa Jayde Kruger is Champion thanks to twin wins

Defending Champion Jayde Kruger produced a flawless performance in the Formula Volkswagen South Africa races at Killarney and, like last year, won the championship in the process. The pole setter beat Simon Moss and Ernie van der Walt in both races. As a result, the 24-year old South African was crowned Champion again two races before the end of the season.

The penultimate Volkswagen Polo Cup South Africa race weekend was a hard fought affair. In the first race at Killarney Jordan Pepper won from Kosie Weyers and Shaun La Réservée. In the second sprint race Weyers turned the tables and triumphed from Pepper. Devin Robertson finished third and, in doing so, reduced his deficit to championship leader Kelvin van der Linde from 35 to seven points before the season finale at Zwartkops on October 28.
