After pounding its flattened Fiat 500 Abarth straight, Rimicci Corse went about selecting a driver to partner Anthony Rimicci in the 2013 Pirelli World Challenge season. Based on his experience vintage racing an Alfa Romeo GTV, the team has selected Ken Dobson, from Sonoma, California, to drive the no. 59 Rimicci Corse Fiat Abarth.

As it turns out, Dobson has a vast driving resume that includes the Pirelli World Challenge, GRAND-AM, and the American Le Mans Series. He's also very willing to stand out from the crowd as a driver of the red and yellow Rimicci Corse Fiat Abarths.

"I know all about being an outcast - I once raced a Pontiac Sunfire,"said Dobson. "I'm super excited about getting back into World Challenge Touring Car. It was the first professional racing series I raced in and the most fun racing I ever did. To come back to the series with Anthony and the rest of the Italian clan, who have always been fun to be around, is super exciting."

The Pirelli World Challenge Touring Car season opener at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas will be Rimicci's first professional race in a car built and developed by his team, making an old experienced driver such as Dobson a necessity for the new program. With Rimicci aiming for Rookie of the Year honors in the Touring Car class, Dobson will help to guide him to that result - as well as trying to keep Rimicci from ending up on his roof again.

"Ken and I have been friends for a long time and when we got this whole project going, he was one of the first guys we talked to,"said Rimicci. "He's not Italian but he gets our sense of humor. I'll be leaning on him a lot this year, with the seasons of experience he has in World Challenge, to help me and the cars get up to speed."

"It will be an eye-opener for Anthony,"said Dobson. "The biggest thing for him will be to be consistent and to put results up all the time. The Fiat will have its challenges to overcome, but it does have some distinct advantages - It's easier to fit them in the trailer, and chicks dig them. They have a certain 'je ne sais quoi', or however that translates into Italian. I bought one for my girlfriend."

Rimicci Corse will be showing progress of the development of its pair of Fiat Abarths throughout the next four months on its website as it prepares for its initial season of the Pirelli World Challenge. With the Touring Car season not starting until May 17-19 at Circuit of the Americas, expect a lot of updates
