Jaguar Land Rover North America Reports US Sales for February 2010

MAHWAH, NJ, March 2, 2010– Jaguar Land Rover North America today reported February U.S. sales: Jaguar sales were 761 units, 4 percent down from 791 units in February 2009, though both the XF and XK models posted gains; Land Rover sales were 2032 units, 18 percent up from 1723 units in February 2009. Jaguar Land Rover North America February U.S. sales for both brands total 2793 units, an 11 percent increase from 2517 in February 2009.


"We are very pleased that so many of our models are showing strong sales early in 2010," said JLRNA President Gary Temple. "On the Jaguar side, the increases of the XF and XK are keeping sales almost on par with last year as we prepare for XJ launch this spring. And the new 2010 Land Rover and Range Rover models have posted gains consistently since their launch last year."






For February, Jaguar's U.S. sales of both XF and XK sales increased. Jaguar XF sales of 586 units were up 15 percent versus 508 sales in February 2009. The Jaguar XK reached 164 units this month, up 11 percent from 148 units in February 2009. Dealers are virtually out of stock on 2009 model year XJ models in preparation for spring launch of the new highly-acclaimed 2011 XJ sedan.


Jaguar's 2010 XF lineup includes four models: The XF Luxury powered by the 300-hp 4.2 liter V8; The XF Premium Luxury powered by 385-hp 5.0 liter V8; the XF Supercharged powered by a 470-hp version of the 5.0-liter V8; and the XFR powered by the 510-hp supercharged version of the 5.0 liter V8. In spring, Jaguar will launch one of the most anticipated new models in the industry, the all-new 2011 XJ luxury sedan, starting at $72,500 MSRP.

Land Rover's U.S. sales in February were up 18 percent, the brand's 5th consecutive month of sales growth driven by the launch of the new 2010 models. The volume leader for February was the Range Rover Sport with 795 units sold, a 29% increase from 615 units in 2009. LR4 sales increased 31 percent with 372 units, up from 284 in February 2009. The Range Rover increased 24 percent with 646 units up from 519 in February 2009.


For the 2010 Model Year Land Rover's lineup features four models: The 230-hp 3.0 liter I6 powered LR2; the new LR4 powered by the 375-hp 5.0 liter V8; the Range Rover Sport and Range Rover, both available with the naturally-aspirated 375-hp V8 and 510-hp supercharged 5.0 liter V8 powertrains.
